4 pillars: wine, food, music, & art.

Lorimar Winery is beautiful — the building, grounds, tasting room with local art, and a special boutique helps the winery to stand out among many. They have gone from 2,000 to 12,000 cases per year in just 5 years. Their “Modus Operandi” — 4 pillars — music, art, food, and wine. The whites have an artistic label. The reds, music notes. They bring in a food truck on the weekends; it is called “Pairings.” The Estate Petite Sirah is like ink dripping from Charles Dickens noble quill.

Things I learned at this winery:

Mourvedre is originally from Spain. It was transplanted to the Rhone wine region in southeastern France by the Pope. Mourvedre is valued for its tannins, color, and spice.

Why would you blend a red and a white? If you add Viognier to Syrah, you add body to the Syrah due to Viognier’s thick skin.
